Subject: Pac-10 officials, Versus TV coverage, Electrolux

Cal, averaging 6 penalties for 48 yards, gets rung up for 14 flags and
121 yards, all but 4 for 30 in the second half. Included was 15 yards
for an illegal block, _after_ a Longshore pass was picked. I didn't
know that was possible. I know this was projected as a vengeance game,
and they thought they had to keep the Bears from being overly
emotionaland getting out of control, but come on...the game was over
after one quarter. Tedford commented about putting 31 up in the second
half, but we all know him better than that. Who else would apologize on
TV for scoring the last touchdown in a 45-10 bowl game

Speaking of one quarter, how about that national coverage, audio only,
frozen on an image of Cal lined up to score their second touchdown until
late in the second quarter. Then the obligatory "Look, the stadium has
cracks Bob!" "Well that's because there's a fault line, Bob" "Look at
the cloud of cannabis smoke on cheapskate hill, Bob" and "If you think
that's bad, Bob, check out the burn-outs living in the 'historic old
growth' trees that the university planted about 50 years ago."

But nothing sucks like an Electrolux.
