I buy it as a decent attempt at damage control.
I don't understand why a guy hired to write about football would waste
time yammering about the town that a team is training in. If I was
from New Jersey or Alaska, I'd be upset at him for not telling me
about the Bengals and wasting time being a Charles Kuralt wannabe. The
good people of Georgetown are rightfully upset about their town being
poked fun at in a national forum.
Glazer has the right to say or write whatever he wants, but he needs
to realize that if he publishes it or says it in public, people have
an equal right to respond. Just ask the Dixie Chicks.
