You gave the impression that the definition of "person" had been
established by legislation, but rather you refer to judicial "law", and
thus I think placed the cart before the horse in your previous
statement. The opinion of the Court wasn't "law" until they gave it.
It would be proper to say "they found as a matter of their opinion the
fetus is not a person".
