Nope... statistics show that even when adjusting for confounding
factors people at similar fitness level are on average less
healthy with a higher BMI.
Certainly a fit person with a 27 BMI is likely to be healthier than
an unfit person with a BMI of 20. But given two populations of
equal fitness levels, one with an overweight BMI and one with a
normal BMI, you will see less health problems in the population
with lower BMI.
